I believe that they are seen as some type of monsters.
they are treated like aliens too, and it's kinda sad. It would be interesting to see a reptile as a beastar,
but knowing how the herbs are. this might turn into a situation where they'll need to remodel their facial features
to appeal more friendlier. (The mayor for example.)
